SPONSORSHIP EVENT LETTER:
Dear Sir or Madam,
The Staff, Parents and Students at Only Imagine are looking for help from local businesses and organizations, as well as friends and family. We are reaching out to everyone to meet the expanded goals and needs of our dance, art and photography students through a Sponsorship Event.
Only Imagine opened in September 2008 and was based on the idea that there could be a place where multiple forms of art could happen for students, of all ages. It fosters an environment for everyone to have an opportunity to enjoy art, whether it is freely dancing and relishing music, expressing thoughts and feelings by drawing and painting, or taking pictures that inspire.
We encourage creativity, self expression, and most importantly having fun as individuals and in a group environment. All of this started with the love and passion that Heather has for her 16 year old cousin with Coffin Lowry Syndrome, who at birth was only given a 2 year life expectancy. What a wonderful motivation he has been in this process to make a place where there are no restrictions on who can dance, draw, paint or be a photographer.
Only Imagine welcomes new students all year: Boys and Girls ages 2 through Adults. However, Heather has taken her studio one step further by offering “Dream Classes”; these classes teach dance and movement skills or art to special-needs students who are sometimes turned away by mainstream organizations. Dance is often used as a form of therapy for these children, helping them bridge the gap between their minds and bodies through expressive communication.
At Only Imagine we feel we have successfully created an environment where the imagination is the only limit. Your sponsorship can help us expand imaginations by providing our students with exceptional performances, competitions and equipment.
This October the dancers performed at the Coastal Carolina Fair, and we are working on other local performances for the 2009-2010 Season. With support we are hoping to provide opportunities for students to compete as individuals and in teams at regional and national levels. Sponsorship will also help cover other incidental costs associated with our yearly showcases, such as performance spaces, props, and costumes which will then be added to our inventory for use by future students. Our first show of the season: The Grinch who stole Christmas is Dec 13 and we will have our Yearly Showcase Recital late May or early June 2010: “Accessorize”.
We certainly understand the financial constraints that are upon us in these economic times and are very appreciative of monetary support at any level; it will go a long way toward making this year our best ever!
